Roan To Riches Mission Statement

The Roan To Riches (R2R) program is comprised of a Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale and Roan To Riches Futurity. Roan To Riches is property of the American Roan Horse Association (ARHA). Its mission is to promote the breeding of roan horses of AQHA, APHA and ApHC bloodlines, and to offer a futurity showcase and increased earning potential for exhibitors and their roan horses.

Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale

  1. The Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale is open to any AQHA, APHA and ApHC stallion, regardless of color.  A stallion is nominated by donating one breeding to be sold through the R2R Stallion Service Sale at 50% of the base stud fee, or $400, whichever is greater. 

  2. The Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale proceeds are contributed to the annual Roan To Riches Futurity purse (85%) and retained by ARHA for administrative and promotional expenses (15%).

  3. Roan To Riches Nominated stallions and their offspring that are registered with ARHA are eligible to participate in the annual Roan To Riches Futurity, which is held in conjunction with the ARHA World Championship Show.  

  4. Roan To Riches Stallion Services may be purchased for use on any AQHA, APHA, ApHC or Jockey Club registered mares, regardless of color.

Stallion Conditions

  1. Any AQHA, APHA or ApHC stallion, regardless of color, may participate in the R2R Stallion Service Sale by being nominated.

  2. A stallion becomes nominated upon the donation of one breeding to be sold through the R2R Stallion Service Sale at 50% of the base stud fee, or $400, whichever is greater. The “base breeding fee” is defined as the breeding fee alone.  All shipping, booking, collection and other applicable fees are separate, and payable as indicated in the breeding contract.

  3. Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale nomination deadline is received by June 1 each year.

  4. 100% Roan To Riches Stallion Service Sale proceeds are retained by the ARHA/R2R and contributed to the annual Roan To Riches Futurity purse for the designated nomination year.

  5. Stallion owners are allowed to reserve their stallion’s service, and are responsible for its sale.

  6. ARHA registered Roan or Roan Bred Solid R2R nominated stallions, and their ARHA registered Roan and Roan Bred Solid offspring, regardless of age, are eligible to compete in the Roan To Riches Futurity for the designated nomination year.

  7. The Roan To Riches “designated nomination year” is defined as the calendar year January 1 through December 31. This will be the R2R Stallion Service Sale year and the year of Roan To Riches Futurity eligibility.

  8. R2R nominated stallions receive promotion by ARHA, including, but not limited to, digital and print advertising.

  9. R2R nominated stallion owners/managers must provide promotional materials to the ARHA.

Mare Conditions

  1. Roan To Riches Stallion Services may be purchased for use on any AQHA, APHA, ApHC or Jockey Club registered mares, regardless of color.

  2. Roan To Riches Stallion Services are available to be purchased at 50% of the base breeding fee, or $400, whichever is greater.  The “base breeding fee” is defined as the breeding fee alone.  All shipping, booking, collection and other applicable fees are separate, and payable as indicated in the breeding contract.  R2R Stallion Service purchasers are bound by the terms and conditions of the breeding contract.

  3. Roan To Riches Stallion Services purchased are not refundable.Rebreeds and transfers are at the discretion of each stallion’s owner/manager per the terms of the breeding contract.

  4. Payment is payable to Roan To Riches and due at time of purchase.

  5. It is the responsibility of the R2R Stallion Service purchaser to be aware of the mare’s and stallion’s color and health genetics regarding any R2R Stallion Service purchased.The R2R Stallion Service Sale and ARHA are in no way responsible for such information.
