NOW TWO WAYS TO REGISTER YOUR ROAN!
ARHA ROAN
To be eligible for ARHA ROAN registration, horses must:
-
be registered with one of the following breed associations: AQHA, APHA, ApHC
-
have at least one roan parent
-
be registered roan by the primary breed association OR have a positive roan genetic color test
-
be of traditional stock horse body type

ARHA ROAN BRED SOLID
To be eligible for ARHA ROAN BRED SOLID registration, horses must:

be registered with one of the following breed associations: AQHA, APHA, ApHC
-
have at least one roan parent
-
be any non-roan body color recognized by the primary breed association

be of traditional stock horse body type
Registration approval
Registration:

ARHA ROAN and ROAN BRED SOLID registration approval is based on review of submitted information and color photos, per the registration application.

Color classifications will be determined by ARHA and body colors will be accepted or rejected per color qualification standards determined by the ARHA Registration Committee.

If eligibility is questionable, a UC Davis DNA Roan Gene Test or other documentation will be required https://www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/services/Roan.php .

The American Roan Horse Association is a secondary registry for all Roan and Roan Bred Solid stock-type horses of AQHA, APHA and ApHC bloodlines. The ARHA is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the enjoyment of roan horse ownership by providing a registry and communication venues to facilitate member participation through showing, breeding, and competing. While showing at AQHA, APHA and ApHC shows in other venues, horses and members have the opportunity to earn special awards and titles.
