Wendy Bernadino & Good Hot N Extreme

1. When and where did you first see your roan, how did you end up with him as yours, and how long have you owned your roan?

I first saw Livi (short for Olivia), in the summer of 2020, at the barn where I was taking lessons. I decided to buy her in December of 2020, even though I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had surgery in December 2020

2. Where, what level, and in what classes do you show your roan?

I show Livi in Ohio and surrounding states. My riding and showing was delayed, due to recovering from breast cancer, so this year, we just showed walk/trot, in western pleasure classes and tried some horsemanship classes. We show both open shows and Level 1 AQHA shows.

3. What is your favorite thing to do with your roan horse?

My favorite thing is spending time riding Livi. The more we ride, the more we get to know each other and trust each other. She loves her peppermint treats after riding too! :-) Under the guidance of my trainer, Jeff Geiger Performance Horses, I'm looking forward to working on loping more, so I can enter more classes in 2022.

4. What is your favorite memory with your roan horse?

My favorite memory with Livi is showing in the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" horse show, to benefit cancer research. I was honored to show in a class of cancer survivors, as well as a class to remember those who have passed. Livi gave it her all, and we won both classes. The show is very popular, and raises lots of money for cancer research each year, and I was so proud to be a part of that show.

5. What are your thoughts about the American Roan Horse Association?

Livi is the first horse I've owned, and I'm thrilled she's a roan! Come this December, I will have owned her one year, and I can't wait to celebrate that milestone with her! I hope to be able to participate more in the American Roan Horse Associate in the future.
